Billy Campbell Video Interview

Billy Campbell Video Interview

USA Network has a great series of interviews up on their site with multiple actors, including Billy Campbell, the almost indefinable Jordan Collier. I thought it was amusing that so far, all of the links to these video interview series on the Official Site have used the actor’s name, but Billy’s video interviews are all on a page named “Jordan”. I have read before that Billy takes on his roles very intensely before, but I’m not sure if this was just an oversight on the part of a webmaster over at USA Network, or something on purpose to make me blog about it.

What I like about the way that they have the interviews listed is by subject snippet, instead of all in one chunk, so you can pick and choose what you are interested in versus having to scan through a long interview. (What can I say, I have a short attention span lately) There seem to be a few less interviews with Billy Campbell than some of the others that I’ve spotlighted here before, but that could be the cold meds talking more than anything.

The listings for his interview are:

See all of video snippets here for Billy Campbell, and check out the posts that I’ve done before on USA Network’s Video Interviews with Joel Gretsch, Jenni Baird and Megalyn Echikunwoke.

Amy Berg Talks About “Great Leap Forward”

Tuesday, September 18th, 2007
Isabelle and Shawn

*Editor’s Note - Second time that I hit “Save” instead of “Publish” and don’t notice it for the day. Someone take away my blogging privileges!

While the Production Blog’s title is “Great Leap Forward”, really this post by writer and producer Amy Berg takes the time to answer questions that fans have posed to her in regards to the series, the characters, and sometimes, asking for clarification.

Messiah Jordan:
My question is: Who are the elite - the Marked or Borg lady’s faction?

Well, if you believe Jordan Collier, the Marked are most definitely the elite. And if you don’t trust Collier, trust yourselves. After all, you’ve met three members of the Marked (Matthew/Tom, Imroth, and Parrish). Didn’t they seem a little elitist to you?

Mind you, I think my favorite part of this question is the “Borg lady” comment to describe Maia’s abductor/Tom’s Future contact.

Check out all the questions and answers here.

Amy Berg Talks About “Ghost in the Machine”

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007
Meghan Doyle

I don’t check out the Production Blog on the official site quite as often as I’d like, especially lately, but I finally got a chance to read Amy Berg’s post on “Ghost in the Machine”, a few episodes back. One of the things that I love about the Production blog is the little nuggets from behind the scenes on the show.

Case in point. As I’m sure you noticed, “Ghost in the Machine” had quite a few theory room scenes. It was up to Marco, Brady, and new girl geek Abigail to analyze the attacks on Drew Imroth’s company and figure out who was behind it. To do that, they had to study the manifesto that was being spit out by computers running Ubient software. Then they had to sift through all the hate mail directed at Imroth and cross-reference the language with that in the manifesto. Tough task for anyone except the venerable Marco Pacella and his cronies. When they were explaining their results to Tom and Diana, they stood in front of a split screen with the documents projected behind them. If you paused the episode with your Tivo, you could probably make out a few dozen words. But in actuality, each document was three pages long. How do I know? Well, someone had to write them.

4400 Podcasting

Friday, September 7th, 2007
Season Four Cast

Due to all of my recent audio files from Dragoncon, and chatting with Shaun on Monday (I’ll also be on his show talking Jericho tonight), I was thinking about podcasts that center on the 4400.

One of the shows on BlogTalkRadio that I’ve heard about from Shaun before is Bionic Angels, who have been discussing the 4400, along with all kinds of other shows that I would have loved to have been able to see the panels at Dragoncon that went on.

If you’re looking for more “Official” news via audio (I won’t call it a true podcast, since I can’t find a feed for the show), USA Network has The 4400 Podcasts available on the Official Site.

A quick search via iTunes also brings up the Lipstick Aliens, who I’ve listened to before for some of their other sci-fi talks, but not a lot else that is specifically talking about the 4400. Do you have any recommendations to help get me through the work-day and giving me ideas for posts?

Ghost in the Machine Episode Commentary

Ghost in the Machine Episode Commentary

Frederick Rappaport, producer for the 4400, has a great video episode commentary on the latest episode, Ghost in the Machine. He lists through his highlights on his resume, and talks in particular about how the title of the episode refers not only to the Extra-Crispy of the Week, but also to Tom Baldwin. It’s interesting that he talks about what abilities he would love to have that they’ve showcased on this season, and the similiarities between the type of people that tend to take Promicin and the very nature of the “freelancers” that work on the show.

Amy Berg Talks About “Daddy’s Little Girl”

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007
Isabelle and Richard

Amy Berg, writer on the “Daddy’s Little Girl” episode of the 4400, talks about writing the episode over on the Writer’s Blog over on the official site, and shares some of her thoughts about the episode.

This episode featured the return of some fan favorites we haven’t seen in a while. We’ve really missed Mahershalalhashbaz Ali. It’s great to have him back. He has such a wonderful presence on screen and his scenes with Isabelle (all three versions of her) were incredibly compelling. In case you’re wondering, the two-year-old Isabelle, the one you saw at the very end? She was played by Jordan Lasorsa-Simon. Jordan was our original baby Isabelle, whom you watched and adored all throughout season two. As for the eight-year-old Isabelle, she was played by Madison Pettis. It was a casting stroke of luck to not only find an amazing actress, but one who looks so much like a young Megalyn Echikunwoke. Both Madison and Megalyn did fantastic work in this episode. I thought both performances were stand-outs.

She also talks about how great it was to have Tess and Kevin back, which I think was actually my favorite part of the episode on review.
