Watching The 4400

USA Network has a great series of interviews up on their site with multiple actors, including Billy Campbell, the almost indefinable Jordan Collier. I thought it was amusing that so far, all of the links to these video interview series on the Official Site have used the actor’s name, but Billy’s video interviews are all on a page named “Jordan”. I have read before that Billy takes on his roles very intensely before, but I’m not sure if this was just an oversight on the part of a webmaster over at USA Network, or something on purpose to make me blog about it.

What I like about the way that they have the interviews listed is by subject snippet, instead of all in one chunk, so you can pick and choose what you are interested in versus having to scan through a long interview. (What can I say, I have a short attention span lately) There seem to be a few less interviews with Billy Campbell than some of the others that I’ve spotlighted here before, but that could be the cold meds talking more than anything.

4400spoilers is reporting that Jeffrey Combs, A.K.A. the lovely Dr. Kevin Burkoff, and Billy Campbell, A.K.A. 4400-cum-messiah Jordan Collier, will be at the London Movie Comic Media Expo the weekend of October 20 and 21, 2007. They are both listed as being there on both of the days of the convention on the guest page, which, if it weren’t for both lack of funds to get out to London and the fact that it’s my daughter’s sixth birthday that weekend, I would absolutely adore to be at. Are any of the Watching the 4400 readers out there in the area and would be willing to give me a report of all the action?

There’s a ton of things going on at this convention, as their show info page lets you know, though their website is mildly difficult to navigate for more information, at least for me.

I know that I mentioned this in passing before, but Billy Campbell REALLY wants to be on Battlestar Galactica, as BuddyTV.com is reporting.

Late last month, USA Network and SCI FI Channel President Bonnie Hammer told reporters that Campbell approached her in May, pleading for a role in the last season of the popular sci-fi series, Battlestar Galactica.

“He literally assaulted me, trying to do whatever he possibly could to bribe me to have me bribe [executive producers] Ron [Moore] and David [Eick] to create a character arc inside Battlestar Galactica,” Hammer said in a press conference during SCI FI Channel’s digital press tour in Vancouver, Canada. “That is the only show he ever wanted to be in. That is the only show he would do for free. Billy Campbell, literally, saying, ‘Give me an arc, any kind of arc, in Battlestar Galactica, please.’ And it was very hard to get away from.”

I have this great visual in my head of Billy Campbell running down a hall, tackling poor Ms. Hammer into the nice carpet that I’m sure is in her offices.

SCI FI Channel’s Executive Vice President of Original Programming Mark Stern says that having Billy Campbell on an arc for the show is a possibility, going on to say that his offer of working for free was especially tempting.

Billy Campbell was one of the guests at Wondercon this year, and he was interviewed by Sidewalks TV there, where he talks about his early career, Once and Again and his role as Jordan Collier on the 4400.

Other than the fact that he’s looking a little haggard, reminding me of an old stereotyped scatterbrained professor I think I had an Art Theory class with, the interview is pretty good, though there are no startling revelations in regards to the 4400.
