4400 Actors - Jacqueline McKenzie

Monday, May 7th, 2007

jacqueline_mackenzie.jpg What we do here every Monday is spotlight an actor , just to show y’all what these great actors are doing outside of the show. Our next actor is multi-talented Jacqueline McKenzie, who plays the no-nonsense mother Diana Skouris.

Jacqueline McKenzie has a long and distinguished career in front of the camera outside of the 4400, starting in Australian cinema to guest starring wonderful American network programs, such as CBS’s Without a Trace. The first place that I remember seeing her was watching Romper Stomper, one of the best Australian cinematic exports ever, in my opinion, though her turn in Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood is a favorite of mine, also.

Outside of acting, she is also a very accomplished musician, and you can hear some absolutely ethereal selections of her work on her official site.

Interesting Trivia from Jacqueline McKenzie’s IMDB Profile:

Her portrait was painted by acclaimed artist Gary Shead for the Archibald Prize.

Was given a Green Card in March 2001 for “Person of Extraordinary Ability”.

Whilst working on Paul Cox’s “The Human Touch”, she discovered painting.

She graduated from Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) with a degree in Performing Arts (Acting) in 1990.

Tom and Diana - TV’s Best BFFs

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

tom_diana.jpg Do you have a BFF (Best Friends Forever)? Well, Tom Baldwin and Diana Skouris have made WebCity News’ TV’s Ten Best BFFs list right at Number Ten back around Valentine’s Day. Looking through the list, I really couldn’t agree more with their choices of “the ten coolest friendships on TV”, though I think that Tom and Diana belong much closer to Number One, because of everything that they’ve gone through together, and still remained close without falling into the unfortunate “Moonlighting” stereotype of ending up in a romantic relationship, like so many other opposite-sex television partnerships.

They’ve survived mind warps, time warps, psychic serial killers, (maybe) alien abductions of multiple family members, confrontations with omnipotent toddlers, and many tears (mostly Tom’s - he cries a lot.) They’ve both been engaged to other people; they’ve helped each other find their missing kids throughout the space-time continuum. There’s nothing this space-age crime-fighting duo won’t do for each other. Some people want them to get together, but me? I like them just the way they are.

See the complete list here.
